Hi Folks,

Thanks to a very generous person I am now the owner of a radial arm saw. Its in relativley good nick and seems to be reasonably accurate but the blade has a few chipped teeth.

It takes a 8.25" (210mm) negative rake blade.

Can anyone recomend somewhere to purchase such things?

Cheers

J

Machine mart sell trends range of craft pro blades which you should be able to get locally. Normally I wouldn't recommend MM as they are generally expensive but the prices of these blades are good. I had one before I went the the Freud gold but it's three times the price and not three times better.

Will the machine take a 216 diameter?
thats a much more common size.

what bore do you need?
what material do you want to cut and what finish are you expecting.....
all these depend on the blade to be recommended

Well worth buying the best quality blade you can get J. Cutting solutions knows his stuff, a lot of the trade lads buy off him

Hi Guys,

Not sure, will have to check the clearance.

what bore do you need?
16mm by the looks of it but the current one has a spacer.
what material do you want to cut and what finish are you expecting.....
Mainly softwood and the best finish I can get!

I have had a dig round on the internet and there seems to be plenty of blades out there in the 210-216mm range but very few with negative rake teeth which seems to be the norm on a RAS.

The trend one looks good and seems to have a -5 degree rake so might be a winner.

Cheers

J

Check that its not 5/8" rather than 16mm they are quite close.

What saw is it 8" is quite small for a RAS

Wealden do a 210 negative rake.
