Morning all its a sunny day warmish (well not cold outside) so all well!
My cream ML8 has a serial number prefixed with W (or could be M or N) 12927 as far as I can make out. Took a while to find the number which is on the foot at the back of the headstock - anyone have a list of manufactured dates for the woodturning lathes like exists for the ML7's?
thank you

There is some information on the ML8 on lathes.co.uk. RDG tools now owns what's left of Myford and may have a serial no list.

My ML8 is serial no N128276 and it was bought new in October 1976. Mine is silver - the cream colour is earlier. I think it was in production from about 1949 . Your serial no suggests it was a fairly early product.

The first lathe I had was an ML8 and always regretted selling it. I couldn't resist the temptation yesterday and bought another, very close and very cheap.
This thread came up on a Google search for serial numbers so I'll add mine in case anyone else finds their way here.
Serial number N2409, thanks for the info ^^^, I wouldn't have noticed it.

Also this sticker is on the headstock

I think that puts it pre 1949 when the patent was granted.
I'm happy anyway.
