Thanks for the pictures - posted some of them before, haven't you? Sure I remember the tables and one of the built-in units.
Like the current project, looks very nice :D
Personally, would go for four seperate doors rather than sliding,as the right-hand side unit is only accesible with the door next to it closed anyway.
Look forward to pictures of however you decide to do it.

Jez,

thanks for posting those.

It would be nice to see some better photos of the little square table, 8th down from the top, if you have any. A close-up on the top would be good as it looks quite unusual.

Cheers

Mike

hi, yer i have more pics, it was my 1st attempt at making a table like that, and i got the bevel legs on the wrong faces, but that dont matter to me, i still like it

top is oak, with strips of Zebrano

Nice work, Jez - and the workshop! :D

I like the extension leads in the bandsaw and router table photo's - I've got a few of them myself, very handy! :)

Like the table, didn't notice the tapers were the wrong way around! where did you get the Zebrano?

Hi,
Great pics of your work there! I started in the trade just over 5 years ago when I was 16. I've been doing joinery almost everyay since. You have quite a nice little workshop, I wish my home shop was similar, but the space I have is very restricted.

Q :?: Hows the joinery trade down in london at the moment? And what rate could a bench joiner expect down there?

Thanks.

We all have a fair amount of work flowin in, mainly double glazed box sash windows are always on list, and stairs.

as a joinery firm we spray primer most of work, and also glaze windows and doors.

I'm mainly onsite from day to day, so rarely get to make the joinery, so working on projects at home keeps me happy.

ive been in trade 5 years, and on a salary of about £22,000

Sounds about the same type of work we're getting at the moment. Loads of sash windows. The next week appears to be other jobs though, so luckily the work is getting varied again!

Also, our work in Birmingham is still coming thru very well. I suppose people who'd usually sell up, are just being foraced to improve their homes instead.

I'm hoping so much that this "credit crunch" don't affect us like it has for those on the new builds. Time will tell. Good Luck for the future anyway :D
