Hi all
I've got a Coronet wood lathe/jointer/circ saw which arrived with a household lightswitch ... my other half's Dad got good use and the smoke seemed to stay in, but I'd like to put a better switch on. Do I need anything other than a basic switch like these?

Them mentioning overload protection in the description just made me wonder, although the ol' lightswitch survived ok - I'm not good at electrics. It's a 1hp motor,
cheers

Depends if you want no volt release and overload protection? If so then you will need to spend around £30 at toolstation for a proper DOL starter and integral overload relay. Otherwise use the type you linked to.
Incidentally I use cropmaster a lot for switchgear and find him very good.

Cheers Bob, I didn't know what NVR and DOL was till now so that gave me things to read up on. Good to hear about cropmaster too,

Thanks Dick, I just bought one from Axminster tonight, cheers for the thought,
