Just come across this picture it shows the teeth of the bandsaw blade in-between the 2 rollers not to the rear of the blade set.
I have been assured it is not a optical illusion.
What is the correct setting please?

Would have thought that set up would lose all the set off the blade ? :?:

Richard, for woodworking bandsaws the teeth don't run through the guides. For all I know there may be zero set blades used in other applications (for example the specialist blades used by butchers for cutting meat have virtually no set) where the teeth can run through the guides, but for woodworking blades the set and hardness of the teeth precludes running them through the guides.

It wouldn't be the first time a photographer has simply set up a shot incorrectly and the client has failed to catch it.

The correct setting is that the lowest point of the gullet should be a hair in front of the guide. So (as the other posters have mentioned) the guides don't chafe off the set of the teeth as it flys past them. The rear thruster likewise should be a hair directly behind the back of the blade. It shouldn't turn with no wood on the machine but the moment wood is applied to the blade it should start to turn as it supports the blade during the cut.

Totally wrong, wreck the blade in seconds, especially if it's one of their new hard point blades they recently mailed me about, nothing you can do to reset/sharpen. Only hope it's down to marketing personnel rather than technical staff.

Run the blade like this at speed on November the 5th and you may get a nice "Spark" show
