This lot was heading to be scraped.
But a good friend saved them for me.
Hot Citric acid bath had the rust off.
Then a hot bath in water and bubble bath had the grease off.
Then a hot bath in fresh water. Here they are drying out on a stove. As they are castings they will soak up water. But this way will dry it out.
When they are still warm I applied oil and wax mix to them.
You can see it being drawn into the metal. Keep them warm and keep applying until it takes on a even tone.
Then allow to cool, then buff.
The wax I was using was again, from local hives, this time the hives were near blackberry bushes.
This shows how dark it is.
