Hi all, I'm slowly getting to grips with setting up my RT60 router table, I've got the table level etc, I learnt how to setup the fence, now I'd like to use the mitre gauge, or rather I'd like to use the mitre slot.

To start off with I know I am going to need a slider of some description, I'm never going to spend hundreds of pounds on full on fence/jig systems but getting a decent, well fitting mitre slider seems to be the key to any hand made jig/slide system.

I've looked around and it seems that the incra or rockler sliders look the best but I have zero experience, so they might look the best because they're very shiny or nice colours, does anyone have any opinions or alternatives?

Does anyone know the cheapest places to get incra/rockler in the uk?

Ignore the mitre slot. Use a sled running against the fence instead, bit of mdf with a makeshift handle, very simple and effective.

Cheers, Paul

+1 for the sled.

Have a look at some Ron Fox clips on YouTube (or routing tips on Wealden's site) before you start spending your money as Ron more than manages with a lot of easily made and simple jigs.

Thanks for the advice guys, the jigs look like interesting ideas, there are quite a few videos to get through yet though :)

They've given me a few ideas and plenty of food for thought.
