Hm, a few trials to do first I think...but if anyone can save me some bother, all the better.
I would like to make a pen barrel with a Maltese Cross....probably ash/maple and padauk or something reddy, that is fairly irrelevant really.
To get the curved arms of the cross, I think I would need to section the blank into three, cut a wedge about half way through out of the main blank and insert a matching wedge shaped section, then repeat, at 90degrees(lengthways), then re attach the end sections....
I fear too many joints to look smart.
I did think about just a straight/square armed cross, much simpler, but not as effective....
Any suggestions?
