On a Monday evening I go to a local music club. In the interval there is always a raffle and the 50p ticket goes towards the evenings when the Turn is more expensive than the door takings.
This week I won second prize, which was a bottle of pink fizz. I'm assured that it is good quality pink fizz by someone who is more into pink fizz than I am.
Back in January I was sitting in a cafe in Cromford after a Sunday walk when I was invited to buy a raffle ticket for the local heritage centre. I looked at the available prizes and wasn't interested in any of them, but coughed up anyway.
I got a phone call today to say I have won a family ticket to Chatsworth House. At the risk of sounding churlish, it's of no interest to me. Been there done that and, er, I'm just a tad lacking in family. However I guess the neighbours could use it, so it won't go to waste.
So what a lucky week eh? I think I really ought to buy a lottery ticket tomorrow!
