For to many years to remember I've been tripping over moving about and storing a very old Oak beam with the idea one day I'll find a use for that!
Well I got fed up with the moving and tripping so thought if i cut it up and get a few bowl blanks out at least they won't get in the way so much, well the said beam was about 6' long 10" wide and 6" thick and very very old so even though it had a few nail holes, worm holes and splits I was hopeful that the amazing colour of the ancient Oak would be worth the effort.
Well this is what I found After all those years of waiting.
well this the end and you would expect some splits wouldn't you
Well this is the inside of that "amazing" piece of wood
As we know you have to open a lot of oysters to find a Pearl.
So it on the fire now
