Lie Nielsen Small Bronze Spokeshave - do you own one?

This may seem a strange question, but I can't find any sufficiently detailed pictures on Google.

I'm trying to determine whether or not I have a flat or curved base on the one I have just acquired - I understand that the curved version has quite a tight curve radius. I believe that I have the flat version, although the trailing edge is slightly relieved - enough to make me wonder!

Anyone able to post two photos - flat and curved - for comparison purposes would help me out!

Superficially there's not much in it! It's a tight curve because the sole is so short as much as because the radius is tight. Lay a straight edge on the flat one though and it's completely flat.

Many thanks Custard! I think your last sentence nailed it - a straight edge does not lie flat across the mouth, therefore - by elimination - I'm fairly sure I have the curved one. I think that the curve is supposed to be a 1 1/2" radius, and I've drawn out a 3" circle and eyed-up against that - they don't match. In any event it's a very excellent bit of kit. Cheers, W2S
