I have a Record 5 1/2 plane that was handed down to me many years ago but the lever cap has a very damaged front edge, no doubt through using it as a screwdriver, and also a front corner has broken off about 1/4" x 1/4" .
Thinking it was about time I put it right I'm looking for a replacement lever cap that has no physical damage but I'm okay with the chrome plating peeling away.
I could get a new Stanley lever cap here for £16.55 , Stanley Spares Kit 9 Bailey Plane Lever & Screw 2.3/8in
but I'd rather put it right with a Record one.
