Hello all,

I have to make up some panels for a series of built in cupboards in a laundry room. They are 900mm x 2000mm x 1 1/4 thick. They are to be painted. I was going to use 33 x 45 PAR red pine edge glued with plywood loose tongues. Obviously stability is a must.

Two things, would I be easier to use biscuits? I have a router.

Or should i use sheet material? Maybe superior grade ply?

laundry room, moisture in the air very likely - go for sheet materials. The PAR will be more work than it's worth in prep (as posted elsewhere PAR is almost never usable immediately) and the moisture could have all sorts of negative effects on PAR glued up panels.

Sheet panel, preferably WBP plywood (Water and Boil Proof) to deal with any humid damp air that may occur, 2 coats primer, 2 coats oilbased (for wipeability) on top.

For the size you need, unless your thickness is critical, I suggest you look at solid fire door blanks - they can be cut down to any size, (though you would not need to remove much) and are manufactured to be strong and flat. Available from builders merchants or wholesale joinery suppliers.
