Hi looking to buy laminate trimmer/ palm router, any advice on what make type is best

Many thanks
Sion

Personally I like the look of the makita rt700cx2 kit. But that is quite a bit of money, hence why I have not yet bought one. The bosch looks quite good but as I feel with a lot of bosch stuff now, it is not quite the best available for the money. When I do buy, I think it will be the makita.

I have the Bosch model and it is awesome, however be aware that Bosch have stopped providing anything for free with their tools it seams. I bought the kit with extra bases, and Aldo the additional plunge base thinking I'd have a more versatile tool, the plunge base was an extra £65ish but if you want a fence for the plunge it costs another £70 on top.
I was disgusted at this and have vowed never to buy Bosch again.

I have the Makita 700 systainer kit with angle and plunge bases and it's a beautiful little machine. This is the one I reach for even though I also have an Elu 96E and DeWalt 625E.

Worth every penny IMHO.

Bought a Makita RT0700CX2 kit £199.95 the week before Christmas. Cracking piece of gear seems well made & well finished.

I thought I was going to have to buy a micro adjustable fence but when checking, the one from my main plunge router fitted a treat :D .

On used the router a couple of times so far but I think it is excellent :D .

I bought the makita over the Bosch as the latter seemed to have more plastic parts to it and less "solid"

I bought the full kit which came in a soft case bag. Wanted the version which comes in a green(ish) systener. They are from America, or so I've been told.

the systainer kit I bought has the traditional Makita blue colour and I bought it in the UK
