I've seen a piece that was constructed with Invis fasteners, and watched it being assembled and then disassembled. Very tight, quick, and robust it was too, but there are way, way, way cheaper methods of building knock down furniture!

Once its up there doesn't appear to be any indication of how it's constructed so anyone else who wanted to disassemble at a later date wouldn't be able to, furthermore, 3 years on when you want to take it apart yourself how do you find the fixings? Clever, but impractical for general use.

I also wondered if there was a risk that the connectors might not work smoothly after having been assembled and left for a prolonged period of time. Finding the unlock positions could be documented, but it would assume that anyone wishing to disassemble something with it at a future date has the rare and specialised tool needed.

I'd say that it might be a useful product for some very niche uses, but not worth it for most situations.

You can hear the mechanism inside the fixing quite clearly when trying to locate it using the magnetic driver so location is not an issue, the idea is that it's a high quality hidden joint so knowing that they are present is not normally something you'd expect a third part to find.... They're expensive so you wouldn't be using them left right and centre for basic carpentry jobs.
We've used these fittings that have currently been in a large boardroom table to fix the feet to the top, this has been installed for nearly five years, we had the feet off last year for refinishing a scratched surface and had no issues with either location or seizing mechanisms

They obviously aren't the be all and end all in fixing and aren't going to be something everyone will use but do offer another level of flexibility in quite an elegant package and we find they fit sone of the finer pieces of furniture we make quite well...
