Your best bet is try and find a tree surgeon as most throw it. The smoke is potentially hazardous so it isn't sold as firewood and it is rarely if ever available commercially. Alternatively keep your fingers crossed that someone here has some you can have.

contact your local council and see if they will let you speak to their tree surgeon. My council were more than happy to do so and I now only have to phone him to arrange a time to visit his yard and take my pick:)

For seasoned wood its worth looking for local furniture, window or bespoke kitchen makers and approach them re offcuts. most throw out or burn their waste material and are happy to see it go to good use.

Remember its toxic so if you find some be careful with mask use when sanding/lung protection etc.

All wood dust can cause problems so I'd say treat it exactly as you would any other turning timber - wear a mask and use dust extraction.

But less toxic than nicotine - so all the smokers are OK   :)

I got some from work recently but it's still green. Any time something interesting gets cut at my workplace, they keep some aside for turners. (There's at least 3 of us on the payroll)
If you were nearer, I would say swing by and grab a couple of bits.

What were you planning on making? I have an assortment of pieces of laburnum here that might be suitable depending on what you have in mind.
