I got my brother a knife blank for christmas of ebay, as he's into bush craft and I thought it would make a nice present. However the knife is blunt (as it was imported from abroad) and there is far too much material to remove via hand

Does anyone know of any service that would be able to grind off the removing metal (neatly) and sharpen it ready for use?

Would be worth posting on the British Blades forum, there are many on there that would be very able to help you out.

You can do it yourself by hand on diamond stones or belt sander or similar but it is tricky to keep it neat and even if it is more of a regrind than a sharpen.

Cheers, Paul

Not forgetting that it could also be done on a Tormek using their knife jig, would take a while as it's slow at removing material, but would give a decent end result. Maybe some on here that might have the equipment.
