I'm thinking of a kitchen re-fit, and I'm on the look-out for a particular mechanism for the wall unit doors.
These wall units are in a narrow galley section with a low ceiling. So no conventional hinged doors, and limits on how far the doors could lift up. I could go for sliding - but then you always end up blocking another cupboard. Tambour mechanisms would get gunked up. Ideally I'd like the doors to be completely out of the way when open.
We've got an old Ikea cabinet with the ideal mechanism... but I can't find that mechanism anywhere else (or even at Ikea anymore).
The nearest is http://www.blum.com/gb/en/01/10/10/
Aventos HF Bi-Fold... But the blum version leaves the lower leaf nearly vertical - and with my height that's right in my face - whereas the Ikea version folds the two leaves tight together virtually horizontal and only a few inches from the ceiling.
Anyone have any recommendations?
Dee

Ah. just found this http://www.hardwarefurnitures.com/Produ ... anism.html
Wonder if there is a uk distributor or if I can buy small quantities from the manufacturer

Not sure if they will have what you want but Hafele is always a good place to start for stuff like that.

You need an account for prices and ordering direct but loads of suppliers will get you stuff from them.

The Blum Aventios HF Bi-Fold would have been the mechanism that I would have recommended. I've fitted loads of them over the years and it is a quality system.

Try "m&d online" they're usually the cheapest online Blum dealer
