My name is Clive, but call me CG. I’m a PeopleSoft (don’t ask) Specialist in my day job but at weekends I’m a bit of hobbyist woodworker/ restorer.
My Dad was a time served toolmaker for English Electric in Rugby and I’ve inherited a love of metalworking machinery from him albeit a tad late in life, lathes, milling machines, pillar drills and the like.
I’ve just picked up a lovely single phase bench Fobco Star from auction for the sum of 65 squid which I’ll be restoring so I’ll no doubt be asking questions along the way. It’s not my first pillar drill restoration but this machine is a cut above my previous ones.
