Nothing special nor any grand designs just a few hours on the lathe to amuse myself and enjoy my hobby a practical shoe horn in Oak for the wife poor ol love mind you I think I could do with one at times LOL and a little natural edge Laburnum vase 6" x 7" which will change colour and go brown in time as I said I just fancied a few hours on the lathe to play and amuse myself any comments welcome

Great figuring on the Vase, are you sure it's Laburnum? looks a lot like Staghorn Sumac to me.

I'm pretty sure it is the logs are still green I have put a picture of a log up just to be sure I got it from Turners retreat they had stacks of it

Judging by the bark I would say you are correct, not dissimilar to this

Just surprised at the light colour throughout and lack of defined sapwood layer.
