Joining two cabinet units - hardware suggestion request

Hi,

Making a new wardrobe for my daughter. The cases are 18mm MDF and I'll be making 3 units 600mm wide and joining them in situ.

I'm thinking countersunk bolts with matching countersunk internally threaded bolt through each side but there has to be an accepted method with hardware that exists already and not just what I've dreamed up. Overall width of the bolts or whatever would be 36mm obviously.

I've seen those cam locking do-dads, but they require more depth (or are designed to go in the 'end grain' of the MDF which I could do if pushed I suppose).

Any suggestions, including suppliers?

TIA, and will post pics once done (if I'm halfway happy with the end result...)

Accurate plinth and almost anything will do the job.

Inaccurate plinth and joining is a nightmare.

Moral of story? Get the plinth right!

I've had kitchen cabinets etc come with those. Easy to drill and fit. A Google of 'connecting bolts' will throw up many suppliers, including ebay - should be delivery to NZ in there somewhere.

+ 1 more for Robin BHM, Pack and line them up, clamp together and fix together with 35mm screws where the hinges will go in the cabinets.
