hi

i saw a robland dc1300 on ebay new and was wondering if it was just a re-branded Chinese import sip axi charn clone? or a robland designed machine.

anyone have any experience of this extractor as i think i need to get a hvlp extractor

Not side but probably.

Just bought ba charnwood 1500w myself and v pleased with it, no more blocking planer thicknesser! You can get a Draper 1500w even cheaper at the moment

Yes ... it's a chinese /far east clone from one of the many manufacturers out there.

No 16 amp

from what i remember they do a pro and and a hobby light trade version of the 2hp, which is yours as there is quite a price difference. I take it your happy with its performance i need one for a small duct system with 2 branches over a length of 5m max at 100mm dia

Whilst on the subject of extractors, I need some new straps to hold the bag on, any ideas?
Has anyone got any clever tips for loading bags? Have had enough of sticking bits of masking tape onto the bag whilst kneeling on the floor trying to hold the bag on the machine and attaching the strap at the same time.Anyone else been there?

Paul,
What are the outlet sizes on the machines?

they are all 100mm. i am in the process of getting another 16a line in the garage so it could be 16a machine

Looks like it's from the Burt stable http://burtgroup.en.made-in-china.com/p ... 300A-.html

I use a couple of magnets to hold the bag in position whilst attaching the strap

are you sure? [... normally 120mm on a 300mm planer]
how many outlets on the saw?
is there one on the overhead guard?

I would think something like the Startrite MDE-HCE ... this has a 150 outlet... having had a look at you workshop picture it would be best to reduce the diameter at the machine not at the extractor ... this will give you better airflow. I would also recommend you use rigid pipe going from extractor to your fixed duct rather than the flexible link.

is it british made? when i upgrade i want as much of the money as possible i spend on tools to go to british manuf.

nope... they are made in far east, but very good quality copy of an Italian machine. side by side you cant tell the difference.
British made will cost double ... Startrite MDE-HCE is £300+VAT
P&J Mini 0.75 hp is £635+ VAT
P&J1 1hp is £749+VAT

thats a good price its on my list now. it states 15 micron is that good enough to trap saw dust?

If you're cutting lotsmoft MDF it might be worth considering adding a cartridge type dust filter - startrite do them for the MDE-HCE as standard but not sure what they charge for them without checking
