I came in from the shop tonight after sanding some large areas of pine with my makita 4" belt sander which gives a good even finish but was thinking maybe a drum sander might be on the cards this year.
Anyway just browsing the internet and came across the festool bs 105 e-set 4" belt sander. At £530 excluding vat is it worth the £370 plus vat more than what i paid for my makita. If a skilled and clued up craftsman was to sand 2 separate pieces of timber with each sander would you really see £400 worth of difference. Im only really asking out of curiousity as i know festool is the dogs danglys but i realy like makita gear. infact 90% of my power tools are makita...
