internet explorer

hi all, i am having trouble with ie, first of all i am running the latest ie, up untill last week all was fine, then when i came to boot up the pc it said
ie could not veiw this page, now i tried all sites and the same thing. i spent 1hour on phone to bt and the operator took control of my pc, and after 15 mins he could not get it to work, then he said i need to contact someone to repair my internet explorer, can someone explain what i need to do please. in the meantime i am using firefox. many thanks col.

If Firefox works OK, why not keep on using it?
Did he mean that you should reinstall IE?

greggy, When was the last system restore point? can you go back to the last known good one (when you know IE was working as expected)

Alternate Try:

In IE goto >Tools >Internet Options >Advanced >Reset Explorer Settings.

I use internet explorer to get xp updates and that's it
