Hi everyone

New to this site and need a bit of advice. In college we only had the option to finish with cellulose based spray, which looks alright but now I want to use oils.

I'm making and outdoors Jack and Jill seat, I've found the finishes I need. A wood preservative and osmo UV Protection oil. Never having used oils though I saw wondering where someone could give me a quick how to, ie - what sandpaper grade do I end with, what's the best brush for applying, do I sand after the preservative and between coats of the UV. Also buffing afterwards.

Wish my college course had included this but we live and learn!

Thank you to anyone that help

Chris

i would go to 240g, and apply with a rag. I flood it on, let it soak for 20 mins and remove the excess. you could denib between coats, with a quick swipe of fine grit. I have never bothered buffing it, particularly for external.

i am sure that either would work, but i have always used rag or nitrile gloved hand
