Help with planer blades please

Good evening guys,

I’ve just received some new planer baldes for my SIP 01550 P/T and they are 5mm longer than the stock blades, I’ve dropped them in place and evened them up so a 2.5mm overhang (outside the block) either side.

Before I go ahead and attempt to set them, is this a bad idea? I’ve rotated the blades by hand and they are not catching on anything (I’ve spun them 10-15 times to double check).

Don’t won’t to start the machine if I’m missing something??

Can't see there will be a problem with such a small overhang.

I don't know the SIP, it should be OK just check nothing else could come in contact with the blades like the guard or extraction shoot as it changes from surfacer to thicknesser.
