Two days ago my father in-law died. His wife wants to keep his ashes and has asked me to make her a cask or urn. I have all the normal workshop machinery including a lathe. Please can you suggest some designs.

Thanks
Paul

I'm sorry to hear of your bereavement, Paul. There are plenty of different designs on show here and some more here

From my recent experience, the urn will need to be about 300mm tall and up to 200mm in diameter to be on the safe side. I'm sure the local funeral director would show you the sort of size regularly used. HTH

Ray.
