Just wondering if anyone wears the CIC hearing aids and if so, what make and model.

I have worn them for several years and they need replacing, but prices seem to have shot up and I would like to get a selection to compare, as outlets (4 so far) all suggest different ones. Any pluses or minuses would be helpful if you have time,

Cheers
Alex

If your still working you could try Access to Work for help towards the cost of replacements, I have some CIC hearing aids but there useless now, Access to Work and the county council paid for them (£3600), but that was several years ago, I have profound hearing loss which means I have to wear over the ear aids, re the CIC aids I can't remember the make.

Retired three years ago at 70, so need to pay. Mine are not as good as when I started using them about 9 years ago, so need to upgrade to something better but CIC are preferred for convenience and astetics

Thanks Roger, the second link was helpful and has been copied. I do have NHS hearing aids also, but they are great lumpy tgings and I don't like wearing them out and about since having CIC aids. Am seeing a 4th audiologist next week and will be selecting something.

In the last test, with Specsavers, the young man didn't even inspect my ears before testing. Just shows the level of training there is not up to much. Even though their prices are lower, they have very restricted information and do not offer details that can be compared with other manufacturers. Probably afraid to be compared.

I think that I would probably treat any ear problems as I do the optician. Select one who was independent and experienced. Not a great fan of high street chains. Good luck with your search.
