Dear all,

Again some pics of another project, a handmade plane from padouk. Chinese (sic!) 44 mm-HSS-iron from Dick, 58° bedding angle, bolt made of holly (ilex).

Hammer head made from some unknown heavy tropical wood, handle from yew.

It was great fun making this plane and it surely wasn't the last one. One learns a lot with planemaking especially with regard to working exactly.

Regards

Hi Philipp,
Very nice and how long did the plane take :)

From what I can see I thin k the head is Macassar Ebony :)

Good job, Philipp!
Like the little handle behind the iron-bet that works well?
Look forward to your next one,
Philly :D

Nice looking plane. I did one of these recently...the trickiest part I found was finding the correct position for the pin - Rob
