This is the second article in a series I am doing on the Veritas Combination Plane. This is more about using this plane - and others like it - than a formal review. This article is about ploughing grooves, which were the main feature of this box

Very tidy derek. As I'm building a lending library out of plywood and making it to loose tolerances with hand tools, I thought about your prior article last night.

I cut wide dadoes in two steps - sloppily - with a 1/4th inch dado plane (three steps, I guess, if you count removing waste in the middle. I thought about putting a picture up and titling the narrative "cutting imperfect dadoes"

:)

(dado planes work fine in plywood, of course).

I'd love to see it David! Do it. :D

The actual use of planes - technique and tips - does not get a lot of attention here. I keep mentioning that this article series is not restricted to the Veritas Combination plane. Surely others here will contribute their tips?
