Google Play Store App

Does anyone else have the "no connection" error? No matter what I try, I can't connect to the play store. Until I can use the app on my new phone, I can't download anything "you have no devices registered on this account" :evil:

Yes I do but I am quite sure that's because I have data and wifi turned off. I presume your networking is working properly ? How about your Google credentials ? Are they set up correctly in the new phone ?

Networking is fine on both data and WiFi. Credentials? I assume you mean my Google account? I've tried using an existing gmail account but that didn't work and I tried creating a new gmail account, that doesn't work either. It signs in OK but all I get is "no connection". The web version works fine but I need to register the handset through the app before I can download anything.

It's a pretty common problem from what I can gather, I've tried all the online suggestions but they don't work, even factory reset. I can't uninstall the app, it's a protected one, so I can't even try the usual uninstall, re-install trick.

yes, credentials=username & password. I am not in wifi nor 3G range right now so can't check on my devices. And I am afraid I don't know what else to suggest either. :-(

Have you used this same phone for shopping on the play store before. Google play will not recognise all makes of phone/ tablet (especially cheper far eastern ones) and give you a similar response to what you are getting.

Not this phone, no. I used it with no problem on my Xperia Ray. I'm running Android 4.1.2, the Play Store app was pre-installed on the phone so it should work.

now that I have a wifi it's fine for me :-(
