Not very often I need to use glue around the house, you know how it is.

There never seems to be any other than a dried up tube of bostik or UHU.

What would anyone suggest for keeping around for a long time and used seldom.?

Mitre kit type superglue will stick lots of different materials in a hurry. Limited shelf life once open though.

2 pack epoxy like aradite has a long shelf life (i think), but is slow curing.

I've got various glues I use but the one I've been most impressed with lately is a dremel hot glue gun with the cheapest glue sticks I could find on ebay. The glue seems to have about a 20 second runny window before it starts to harden. If you're after something with an invisible glue line I guess you'd need something much thinner like a ca superglue. I've never been overly happy with any superglue I've used tbh. I usually try it on plastic stuff and it very rarely stays stuck together.

Bostik Impact is my weapon of choice. When the kids were at school it never got borrowed so always stuff available. Sticks just about anything to anything and is almost instant. Has an unbelievable shelf life, and has fantastic holding ability. Great for school projects too!

Couple of small tubes of 1 part impact adhesive (as the big ones are inevitably dry when you come back to them), and Stixall for anything that requires any vaguely non-tiny area (keeps for ages with the little screw top, much better than a nail in the end of the nozzle). Job done!
