I never seem to have the right blade on my bandsaw and whilst blade changing is easy enough on my BS300E it often turns a one minute job into a ten minute one!

Do any of you have what you consider to be a general purpose blade that stays on your machine 90% of the time? If so what spec is it.

i have a 4tpi 3/4" one in mine. I think it may be a starrett, but it was fitted a while ago. i dont change it from job to job, although I dont do tight curves- my stuff is mainly ripping from 1" to 4" or so, occasionally deeper.

I have a start rite 352 and it is set up with a3/8 4 tip skip blade for nearly all of my run of the mill work I generally buy all of my blades from tru cut and find them durable and sharp. Not too expensive either.

This was the type I had in mind, thanks.

Hammer N4400, 1/2", 3 TPI skip tooth, bi-metal.

Bit rougher cut than is ideal for joint cutting, but okay. Thicker kerf than is ideal for veneer slicing, but okay. Wider than ideal for furniture type curves, but a heavy tooth set and some ingenuity with relief cuts means it's okay.

A non standard fence makes blade changing a bit more of a faff, but I go weeks and weeks at a time getting by okay with this blade.

Tuffsaw 1/2" 3-4 tpi premium varicut, on a small saw (Inca). I only change it for large size ripping (4" - 6") or for curved work.
