Driving up the M6 yesterday and needing a (well planned) break, I called into G&S rather than a service station. Only a few miles out of the way from the Penrith junction, but well worth the detour. Fortunately the car was already packed full of holiday stuff or my wallet may have taken a bit of a hammering. As it was I stuck to buying some blanks which all looked to be good quality, and well organised so you could easily find what you wanted. Will definitely be making the detour again sometime.

A foreigner like me had to google to find out what you were talking about. I just couldn't see what Gilbert and Sullivan had to do with woodturning. :D

That took a bit of thinking about. To early in the morning, shouldn't you be in bed by now ?
6pm at the moment Graham, though as I get older the more I think it is near my bedtime. :(

Hi

From the woodturning tools on offer and the images displayed it looks like they are affiliated to Axminster.

Regards Mick

I used to work at G&S. They are mainly supplied through Axminster and Brimark. I didn't own a lathe while I was working there, now that I live 300 miles away from it, I do. Funny how it goes...

The helpful thing to do is post a URL and some vague idea of where on the M6 the business is.
I assume the company in question is G&S Specialist Timber at Penrith http://www.toolsandtimber.co.uk/

Well it did say PENRITH in the original post, and almost every page I look at on the forum has an advert so I thought a URL wouldn't add anything.

I've never seen an advert on this forum.
