I have been using the stock 4H (1.4mm) needle when spraying water based lacquer / varnish, but I find the results hit and miss. Yesterday, I had a few instances where the gun sprayed out large drops. I also find it difficult to get a nice uniform coverage and tend to find sections of the piece I am spraying will be over saturated and other areas with not much coverage.

I have tried adjusting the gun via the coverage knob on the rear, but haven't had much luck.

Has anyone tried the 1mm needle and if so are you able to provide your experience relative to the 1.3mm needle. Keen to also understand the brands of water based finishes you may have used which worked well.

Thanks
