Not a turning subject but a very good resume of how thorough you have to be with drying wood for a close tolerance piece.
Note the sealing of the endgrain even when kiln drying.

I certainly found that of interest. I just goes to show how much work can go into preparing and finishing a piece of wood for an end product of high quality
