I am pretty busy at the moment I am happy to say. thought I would post a couple of shots of what I have been up to in case you were wondering where I had got to.
I have almost finished a set of painted wardrobes which will have two mirror doors. (I shall post some shots of it once fitted of course)

As usual it will be assembled on site.
Next up is a high gloss sideboard which is a bit unusual. It will have three doors in a high gloss black!

This has just been painted and polished ready for the doors and shelves to be finished.
Finally I am working on two more aquarium cabinets and have made a start on the first one.

My friend is coming in to help me out on Thursday which will ease the pressure on me a little. :D

All looks very good. Loving the curved worked, very interesting.

A few questions if that's ok.....

What are your doors made from? MDF or something like tulipwood?

How is the curved part made? Did you spray or hand paint it?

Are the doors for the curved unit lay-on or are you using butt hinges? It's just because I can't see there is enough room to hang the middle door if your using concealed hinges

Good to hear someone else is busy as well. I'm finding that others either have lots of work or none at all.

The corners of the unit were carved and sanded to shape after glueing up a large quadrant section. It is all spray painted with Morrells 2K solvent. The doors will be made in MDF and the outer two doors will be hung on inset euro hinges and the centre door will be hung on a set of half overlap lay on euro hinges.

I made some progress on the aquarium cabinet today. The shelves and the back panel are now fitted. The top is now complete and the third leg added.

The canopy is also nearing completion now.

Booth doors are in the clamps and will be the item on the agenda tomorrow. :D

Thanks guys. yes Reggie, it is a bit unusual isn't it? Well I got on very well today with everything sanded ready for a finish and the doors fitted.

I also got the canopy ready for a finish although I am still waiting for the hinges to arrive. By the end of the day I had given all of it a coat of sealer ready for the morning. :D

Mailee, can I ask how you made the frame for the aquarium? I've been looking at the first pic,, left hand side of aquarium are the uprights two pieces joined at right angles? If they are can you tell me how you do it please? Or have you cut a piece out of a solid length?
Thanks
Rich

The frame is made with Dominos Rich. I used the largest ones for this and it has made a pretty solid job of it. :D

Thanks for the reply. I think I've confused you though.
Do you mean you joined the frame with the dominoes?
This is where I show my ignorance. What I was trying to ask is, did you cut a rebate in the frame to fit the panels in to?
Sorry.

I ask this every time but why not match the panels?

I am sure it would not be a problem for mailee. I don't have the skill, so to be honest I was going to borrow his idea to improve the joints on my cupboards.
As you mention it, so I'm clear, do you mean butt join the panels? I've tried and as I say I can't get them neat enough.
Apologies to you if you mean something different.

Yes Rich, they are rebated for the panels, done with the router. Yes Bob, I should have but forgot and left the doors until last and then didn't have enough wood left to book match them both. I will get it right eventually......honest.

The aquarium cabinet is ready for the handles and delivery now. Just one more to go. :D

I got the doors mounted on the curved cabinet today so I could trim them to fit. Still waiting for the handles so can't do much more now.

Wardrobes are almost complete now and will be fitted next week. :D
