having spent the last few years without so much as a 6x4 shed when we made our move to cornwall earlier this year my first priority was a shed....i wanted a single place where all my tools were.

the shed turned into a workshop and my idea of simply having somewhere to put my tools turned into decision to take up woodwork as a hobby  :D

having quickly found this forum i can look back and see all the mistakes i made but seeing as i built this on my own (i had help getting the 8x4 sheets on the roof) I'm pretty pleased :)

size wise its 5mx4m and 2.5m high lined with 75mm jablite insulation, everything is 4x2 timber with 18mm osb to the floor and roof with 12mm osb lining the walls.

being as we are on a woodworking forum, i guess my use of upvc cladding is in ill taste but at £10 a length (5000mmx300mm) the ease of installation and lack of maintenance was a no brainer!

hope you guys enjoy the pics

Looks like a great space. Totally get the PVC cladding, minimal maintenance which means more time on the good stuff. Only thing I would say is you need more sockets by your bench.

Still very jealous of that much space... I have to make do with a 10x7 and a gazebo.

Thank you :)

As I mentioned, when I started building this I wasn't intending to take up woodwork so only have 5 double sockets but I can add another ring onto the consumer unit as I still have a free fuse way :)

The bench (not that you call it a bench) is going in favour of floor space

Nice work! It's very satisfying making a proper space for yourself and being proud of it

Cheers, I've waited a long time to have all my tools in one place :)

Very nice, looks like a great space.

In Cornwall I suspect you don't get too much snow, but if you do one day I would clear the roof if you can as it looks like you have 4x2s spanning what I guess must be 4m. Maybe the timber is chunkier than it looks to me in the picture, but wouldn't want to see the roof come crashing down.

Terry.
