Well done! I've loads coming along but none even nearly ripe yet. Are yours under glass?

My neighbour says they are supposed to be ready for Wimbledon. :)

Blimey that's excellent John, we've planted ours in hanging baskets this year to try & protect the berries but at the moment they are no bigger than small marbles. Enjoy the fruits of your labour. :D

My folks in Kent had their first last weekend, still awaiting ours in Warwickshire.

Ours are growing in the open,no glass, but established plants now in their third year pus runners fro m last season making new plants as well

Been taking a few from the spare runners that found their way into the greenhouse for about a week now, ones in the main bed are about a week away assuming it gets a bit warmer.

We had some the other day, albeit of moderate 'new potato' size from some self set Red King Edwards that were in the way of the French Bean allocated plot.

Why is it that you always miss some of best examples when you try and clear the spud plot each year.

Good going lads. My strawberries are small green marbles at the moment.

Real question is "who has the earliest early potato?"

Bob Flowerdew told me he aims to grow and harvest fresh dug new potatoes for his Christmas meal.

The aggregate cost of those potatoes is remarkable, a bit like Georgian pineapples (*), which he also grows.
