I bought a used Jet scroll saw from Axminster's ebay site on an impulse and have finally got around to using it for a project. I have already realised I need to alter the hex key blade holder to a turnkey for quick blade changes.
This is a gift for my nephew Leo's first birthday. Made out of 22mm plywood, finished with a food safe finish and adapted from a lion template I found on the tinterweb. It does stand up on it's own.
The proportions are not quite right for the head, I hand drew the design rather than printed it and it is more of an ornament than a toy for a small child it is about 7" by 5" (in retrospect I would make it much bigger and less bite sized) but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed making this and the eye and the ear which as internal cuts I thought would be tricky went ok.
Another thing in my workshop I would like to have more time to do! I can see why this is addictive!
