I've been turning about 2yrs now and never posted any of my attempts. Anyway Mrs Moby took some samples in to work and promptly started getting orders and demands from all over. One box of bits sold and another going in tomorrow.
So, I've decided i must be doing something right and decided to put up a few pics and see what the pro's think.

I have loads of poplar that i was given as firewood and find a lot of interesting features , its not the prettiest coloured wood but makes good practise for getting rid of tear out by sheer scraping. Its also very dusty when sanding.

Don't be so shy, those look great, we need to see more of your output.

Like the way you have made the most of the natural wood figuring.

The fruits look great, very good shape esp. the pear.
I don't like coloured bowls etc. but now I know why; your Sycamore one looks perfect, because IMHO you have chose the right colour to work with the wood rather than the un-natural blues and green you usually see. Really very attractive.

Thanks for all the replies, they really are much appreciated. A bit of a boost to my confidence. The sad thing is that the enjoyment of a hobby may be curtailed by the expectations of people wanting orders fulfilled!

I work full time as a self employed boiler engineer and do this in my spare time, as well as renovating my own house!
no rest for the wicked? i must have kicked a witch in aprevious life! lol.

thanks again for your encouraging comments.

Your snowmen would have made nice entrants for this months challenge too! Good stuff Moby. :)
