Good Morning,

Am making a table top out of London Plane and am getting round to thinking about how to finish it.

Have used Danish oil on a few offcuts and whilst it brings out the grain well it does yellow it a bit too much.

Does anyone have any suggestions to bring out the grain whilst keeping a natural colour.

Many thanks

Robert

Fiddes or Chestnut or Osmo Hard Wax Oils are all supposed to be non-yellowing.

I've used Chestnut on many occasions and find it does darken the wood very slightly but brings out the grain well.

The only thing that comes to mind that shouldn't change the existing wood colour much if at all would be a clear lacquer.
