Finishing Birch Plywood

Can anyone please recommend a suitable finish for birch plywood. Its only workshop cabinets but I want something
to enhance and protect it without darkening it.

I use Danish oil but some level of darkening is pretty much inevitable.

I'll get some of that later and try it on some offcuts. Does it offer much protection as theres a little bit of moisture
in my garage and I want to protect the Birch from absorbing moisture. Maybe just varnish the edge cuts?

Hi, I have made kitchen cabinets, wardrobes and shelving units out of Birch ply with a 'polished' edge. I had some french polished once, and have also tried danish oil. I always use a water based floor sealer/varnish now which I find by far the best allround solution.

It is hard wearing, very quick to apply and gives a nice flat finish. Takes 2-3 coats.

Lacquer or acrylic varnish.

There are a few options, but the most practical is a non yellowing acrylic, such as this one

Not cheap, but brushes/ rollers on very easily.(can be sprayed as well I think.)
Dries very quickly and doesn't yellow the birch
