Hello,

As per the title, I've built some shelves where the flat parts are waney sycamore, and the uprights are oak.

I like the unfinished look, but I feel I ought to apply a finish to the flat parts, to stop them getting grubby when dust inevitiably accumulates.

I don;t want to varnish, as this may look a bit odd where the bront edge still has the bark attached. I was thinking about possibly waxing them.

Any thoughts/ideas as to what I could use that would compliment the bark?

Many thanks

p.s. I've been told that sycamore can yellow. I'm not fussed re this.
