108 gold medals were won by Europeans at the Rio Olmpics 2016.

Therefore in my opinion Europe are the most successful competitors.

Not the U.S.A

Only you class youself as a european. rather than as a member of the human race, who won every medal on offer.

Cool! Who were they competing against? :D

Team America's results are quite poor if you go by population.

324 million for USA divisded by 119 medals in total = 2.7 million
64 million for UK / 66 medals = 0.96 million

or Golds 44 vs 27
USA = 7.3 million UK = 2.3 million

So we are about 3 times better than them, haha.

But if you use that analogy the European competitors would far out way the USA so of course they would win more :lol:

One word ' Funding '

Personally I loved the Olympics and thought our performance rather spectacular.

I was half listening to something this morning that said each gold medal cost in the region of £4 million.

Oh is it that time of year again *yawn*

If you didn't like it you wouldn't join a conversation about it.

I saw that figure about the 4 million but i think it's a bit misleading.
