Levelling Planer Table

Hi, looking for some advice on the 8 inch erbaurer planer thicknesser I bought, second hand but new and unused in the box. The machine works fine on the thicknesser etc. But the planing tables are uneven, the adjustable table at the rear is on a slant. When the front of the table, measures 1mm below the blade, the rear of the table is measuring 5mm below the blade, by the adjusting handle. I have took both covers off, and can find no other method of being able to make the table level.

Would really appreciate any help and advice you may have- I know it is not a top of the range machine, but would really like to sort this. Many thanks in advance!
 
I don't know the Erbaurer planner, but normally the infeed table is adjustable in height by a winding handle normally sticking out from under the table at the front, the outfeed table should be near level with the top of the blade, you will probably have to take off the outfeed table and pack it up level with washers of some kind.

Hi, I had the misfortune to buy one of those second hand with exactly the same fault. Screwfix (their brand) just said they were not adjustable and no spares available.
If you bought it off Ebay and it wasn't listed as faulty, get a complaint in and you may well get your money back - I did.

It's a standard pattern P/T which wears many skins/badges and a range of price tags, I bought a Titan from Screwfix and it had misaligned tables, I took it back and after the third they gave me an Erbauer version for the same price. The Erbauer I received is OK, and I accepted it, but the design of this model is unadjustable for table planarity. The tables are held in position by pins on either side in the main stamped steel side plates. Adjustment would[/will] require re-working the securing method manually.
It's a compromise for a price.

Does not the infeed table move on some kind of slide to adjust the cutting depth? If this is the case, can't that table be made level with the outfeed table by shimming?

The four pins [two either side] slide in punched out slots in the side plates. I think the easiest method of correcting would be to adjust [filing?] the pins/holes on the outfeed table to match the infeed.

You can see how the infeed table slides up and down in this image. There are inclining "tracks" cut into the case which the infeed table rides along to adjust depth. This means that there is room for error in both planes of the infeed table with no easy way to correct it, other than to perhaps align the outfeed (shim it) to the infeed? which would be easier as it's static. But I'd guess there is so much play in the infeed that as soon as you move it, it's probably out of alignment with the outfeed again.

Wear and tear would also probably add even more play over time. It's a horrible design. I understand that cheaper models have to be built to cheaper standards, but that doesn't mean you can't have a design that incorporates at least some admustment for correction. It's not fit for purpose in my opinion. Such a waste of time/money/energy

Would it be possible to drill out the pins on the outfeed table and bolt it true to the infeed as near as you can?
