When I first started using these cartridges I had a look at the compatible ones and they were the same capacity but I would strongly recommend not going for a compatible but sticking with the Epson own inks. I usually get mine from either Staples or Sainsburys when they have offers on and stock up. Staples currently have an offer on http://www.staples.co.uk/ink-toner/tone ... ridge?r=rh

The reason I wont buy compatible ones these days is that I have had no end of problems with them in the past, even when brought from a well known supplier. These include a lot less ink in them, not fitting properly and in one case completely messing up the printer so I had to get a new one as the company didn't want to know about problems.

I know a lot of people dont have any problems with compatibles otherwise the companies wouldnt still be trading but I wont have one in my printers now.

A trick I've used in the past is to save up my Nectar points and use them against buying genuine Epson inks in Argos. Of course that would apply in Sainsbury as well.

1000 Nectar points = £5.00

I have not purchased any proprietary inks since 1998 but get grumpy because red and yellow are always running out.
In fact four fitted compatibles still worked after coming back from a 6 month holiday in the past.

I buy my Epson ink from Prink.co.uk.

18 cartridges for about £20 - even if they aren't as good as the official Epson ones, they're so much cheaper it doesn't matter.
