Ellipse jig

Hi. Has anyone made their own jig from the plans found on the internet? Have seen a couple, (cant post links yet, as I haven't made enough posts), but the diameter of the central part the blocks ride in seem very small. Are these jigs ok to make large ellipses (2m major axis, 1200mm minor)? Anyone any experiences they can share with me? Many thanks

Hi Terry - I have one - I originally bought the Trend one but it was too small so I just scaled it up - out of plastic - will try and dig out a photo it was not tricky at all

Thanks Mark. Yeah, they look easy enough to make, going to tackle it over Easter week next week. The ones I've looked at seem awful small, so if you could, can you tell me what size you made yours, and what size you think I'd need to get a 2 metre major and 1200 minor axis?
