Is it just me, or are prices dropping a bit. It may be the run up to Christmas and less spare cash, but last night I picked up:

now, it probably needs a couple of new wheels on, but even so, seems like a bit of a steal. I didnt think much of it, just lucky, until...

I had fancied one of these for ages, but they are like rocking horse dung normally. Today, I got

I am guessing that it is a miller falls no 1- certainly has some age to it, and rosewood handles. These would normally be well over 50 quid, on the rare occasions that they turn up. Hopefully the blade will be in good nick.

Anybody else noticing proces a little less than "normal"?

Mmm, I got some Sandvik chisels in really good condition for 10 pounds the other day. I've been waiting for these for ages, I used to have a set of 3 which I used all the time, but I lent one to someone (duh) and lost another one. They've always been silly prices when they've rarely turned up, so I was amazed when my goofbid worked. Now I've got a set of 5 =D>

Strange, though, I thought prices would go up rather than down around Christmas.

Funny old game innit? I was just thinking that some prices on Fleabay were unrealistically high.
I saw someone in the US trying to sell a W5 Woodrat (with some damage) for £390 + £98 carriage when the latest W600 lists at £375 (inc vat).

A few weeks ago, I was tracking an old Leigh jig which sold at a price which, when collection costs were taken into account, would probably have cost as much as the latest model.

Hi

I have noticed that there has been a bit of a rise in plane prices recently. I buy a few 5 1/2' s on ebay for students to fettle on my courses and have usually bid about £31 and usually won much of the time, but have not won much in the past couple of months. Must increase my bid!

Chris

Oh I think they've gone sky high! I've been frustrated many times in the last few weeks at being pipped at the post but i finally got good bargain for a box load of tools for £25.
All need one hell of a fettle but that's half the fun
