Well after a battle with some sodium chlorite my boiler suit looks like a tie die experiment gone wrong....

Anyone got a recommendation for a black dye that they have used to bring things back to their former glory? Not really keen on something to go in the washing machine, i'd rather chuck it in a bucket....

What is your boiler suit made of? The Dylon range are pretty good but work better on natural fibres iirc. You'll need a lot of salt to get a really good depth of colour.

+1 dylon and a big bucket and lots of salt or else it ends up wishy washy grey.

When I was in Germany I had to iron mine every day

Hope you have washed it already. Sodium Chlorate dried into fabric can combust. It's socially awkward if your boiler suit bursts into flames while you are chatting to somebody.

Last time I bought some dye it seemed very expensive. If you don't want to throw boiler suit away can it be re purposed, big garden, scarecrow? Add high viz jacket, security dummy....
